Sinitus Tempo just dropped another instrumental project during the holiday season called “Peaceland II”. While some would term this a beat tape I’d prefer to call it an instrumental project.

Vlooper releases in cooperation with its homebrand Tout´nou and Gergaz its latest, seventh beattape Analog Love. Beautiful, heartfelt and dreamy neo-soul recordings and the irredeemable voice of his wife Gabrielle Modlee just simply would not leave you unmoved, this is really dope. Hi all, Revolution Void released a new album for your listening enjoyment. It's 100 minutes of music spanning funk, jazz, hiphop, minimal techno, disco, afro-beat and who knows what else. Quite an eclectic mix, 28 songs in all. Inspired by Hundertwasser's excellent essay Window Dictatorship and Window Rights RV decided to stop segregating his music by genre and include a diverse range of styles, as well as tempos, song length and harmonic content. Don't worry, still included some classic R.V. style jazzy breakbeat bangers! :)

One of the most inventive and soulful hip-hop producers on the scene today, Leonard Dstroy (Kyle Dykes) is changing the game. Born and raised in Kansas City, Dykes has been involved in the music scene for over 17 years working with artists such as Brother of Moses, Stik Figa, and Ces Cru. His music features downtempo beats, west coast and r&b influences, and soulful 70’s samples. It’s built on a foundation of instrumental hip-hop and layered with vocal samples, light synth fx, acoustic guitar patterns, clean, tight kicks and thick, funky bass lines. Heavily influenced by Pete Rock, Exile, and J-dilla, Leonard Dstroy is definitely living up to an amazing legacy and progressing it into the future.

Fuji Kureta is an electronica-downtempo duo; the members are Sahin Kureta (music-programming) and Deniz Öztürk (lyrics-vocals). These two have been making music together since august 2008. They make songs in English and in French. The band’s sound oscillates between soft but strong melodies and very inventive beats. The band recently won “2009 best electronica act” award in Miller Music Factory Contest. They would like to specify that they never use samples, all the bits and pieces of the songs are written electronically.
We proudly present a new collaboration between John Purcell from the London-based band Azoora and the wonderful Montreal-based artist Graciellita. Azoora has released seven EP´s on 23 Seconds Netlabel between 2008-2011, and those who have listened to them before will recognize the sound in this project. Though it sounds different too, Graciellita has made a clear imprint on the atmosphere with her lovely voice and presence. Both artists have a background in trip-hop or related music and this is clearly reflected in their collaboration. The EP is a beautiful, chilled out trip-hop journey with insidious echoes, loops, beats and various small sounds. Beautiful and dark at the same time. Or as one of our friends described it: electronic, singer and songwriter music.

Rhettmatic, Daz-I-Kue and Red-I - The Do-Over Manila EP
label: The Do-Over released: December 2011 style: hiphop beats funky soul electronic format: 192kbps mp3
Seven years ago, who would have ever thought that our little backyard boogie would one day be hosted on the other side of the world? It’s sometimes hard to live in the moment and truly appreciate how blessed we are to be doing what we love, but a week long excursion in The Philippines this past July was just what the doctor ordered. Part of the overall beauty of Do-Over is being able to experience the local culture of each market and fully enjoy the sights, the sounds, the food & the people. Well, no trip to The PI is complete without a fellow Beat Junkie on your side (and an evening of midget boxing) so it was an honor to bring along our friend, Rhettmatic for his first ever DJ gig in The Motherland alongside Bugz In The Attic’s Daz-I-Kue. Before The Do-Over ManiLA, we escaped the hustle and bustle of the city and ventured through the country side and made our way to the South China Sea. It was here, in the secluded Punta Fuego seaside community where the magic first started. From sun up to sun down, Rhett, Daz & local beatmaker Red-I, drew inspiration from one another and shared their influences to collaborate together as well as create their own tracks over the course of the entire trip. The result was an abundance of tropical heat.
tracklist: 01. Mama Matic - Do Over 01:37 02. DJ Rhettmatic - Punta Fuego 02:39 03. DJ Rhettmatic Daz-I-Kue - Back To The Beach House 03:53 04. Red-I - Galactic Dancehall 05:16 05. All the way from Paris with a whole lot of love comes an EP from our label’s original founder, gabo lora. Everything from experimental textures to trippy beats (‘cuz we trippy mayn), gabo lays down some serious tracks in 8 Dedos EP. Graphic designer, guitarist, keyboardist (for Rita Indiana at one point), this young man has much to show and tell.
Hanne Adam aka adamned.age is a well-known figure in the netlabel scene, and has been extremely kind to offer us her work for several years now. “After the rain” is her new album – the second release at PublicSpaces Lab. Trip-hop or whatever you want to call adamned.age slow beat music filled with smoke and glitches is a landmark in the netlabel scene. “After the rain” continues her path, surprisingly, in a much brighter and almost joyful way (like indicating that after the rain comes the good weather). After the rain is an album focused on rhythm, and listening to the several tracks you find Hanne exploring and highlighting several different styles. After the first 3 tracks where rhythm points the way, she presents us with what could be considered a glitchy music box song, to offer us a beautiful jazz tune in storiette for reflection, and finishing off with the title track After the rain, an epilogue, or maybe a prologue for a next release.

You may have noticed that Vote Fumbata was lacking any of Fumbata's signature drum n' bass tracks. That oversight is rectified here. It starts of with some throbbing techstep in Hardliner, and then moves seamlessly into the heavy guitars of Metalhead. Then we revive some old-school drum n' bass style for A Glimpse of the Past. Empower is the big anthem here, with a truly epic intro, and an equally arresting main section. After all that heaviness, it's time to come down easy with the shifting orchestral strings of Yama.

Brennnessel is a new label run by Polish ElectroPop trio Kamp!, one of their first releases is ‘Goodbye’ from fellow Pole Tomasz Jamroz A.K.A. Gazella. Straight-up deep and moody SynthPop, ‘Goodbye’. With a strong line of ‘80’s Pop DNA running through it the track is sparse with the vocals, but that sits nicely with it’s spacious sound. Like a Disco in a dungeon, ‘Goodbye’ combines a funky groove with cold, cavernous production. Awkoder, up the retro stakes even higher with a Pet Shop Boys-esque bassline and a hint of Blue Monday, on their SynthWave reMix, culminating in a soaring synth-guitar solo.
T Bird a.k.a. the musical wonderkid Tim Crane is the gravel-voiced front-man of criminally underexposed Texan heavy funk and soul outfit T BIRD & THE BREAKS who released their debut album "Learn About it" in 2009. The band have dropped a number of breaks-heavy funk nuggets since it´s release and now "T Bird Is Good For You" sees Crane stepping out on his own. Given that he’s a man who loves his hip-hop as much as his funk and soul, it’s no surprise that Crane ends up at the place where G Love, The Beastie Boys and indeed his own band intersect. The album is a walk through the garden of P-Funk, Oldschool Hip-Hop, Dr.John´s Voodooed landscapes as well as Gospel Hymns and Soul/Garage 60´s style. All in all it´s a fantastic album rooted in the whole American Music Underground culture from the 50´s and up to this day. An evergoing party. It´s good for you.

One of our favorite things about a young genre of music, is seeing all of the different variations that spawn out of it. One trend that we find particularly interesting is this fusion of hip hop and electronica. Take Archnemesis for example. This duo takes anything from early 20′s blues and jazz, and modern hip hop and fuzes in huge bass and well composed synths.
