Mononome - Come Close

Mononome - Come Close

label: Beatquick Records
released: 26 November 2012
style: instrumental jazz mpc hiphop beats
format: 320kbps mp3, FLAC,....

"Come Close" is the result of rusty brass and nostalgic loops enjoying the company of groovy bass lines and hard-hitting drums on a cold winter night. Layered with soul and jazz elements, Mononome's 3rd EP, which is released via Beatquick Records, was entirely produced, mixed & arranged with an AKAI MPC 2500. All sounds came from sampling dusty old records and especially Greek 7". Enjoy the trip as if it's short, and you are "getting close(r)".

tracklist:
1. How Could I Begin 03:22
2. When You Gonna Learn 04:23
3. Forgot About Me 04:10
4. Don't Come Back 03:36
5. Leaving 04:33
6. Everyday 03:13
7. Come Close 04:34

The Greek samples sculptor and beatsmith Mononome drops his second masterful EP for Dusted Wax Kingdom. The tracks are structured completely out of samples and are reminiscent of the amazing jazzy vibes, lo-fi down-pitched drums and powerful moods of the golden early 90s.

01. Forever Is Wasted
02. Many Dreams Ago
03. To Break A Broken Heart
04. Fools Rush In

mononome - Dream Sequence EP

mononome - Dream Sequence EP

label: self-release
released: 01 December 2011
style: instrumental hiphop beats
format: 320kbps mp3

Mononome is a cut-and-paste style beatstrumental composer from Greece. His Dream Sequence EP was released on the first of December last year and I’ve been patiently waiting for a chance to post it since.
The track Enthusiasms (Couldn’t Ask For Anything More) is funky while at the same time mellow. A neat acid-jazz track to listen to when you go to one of those groovy bars where none of the chairs match and the graffiti on the bathroom wall is both witty and legible (although that is very specific… you can listen to the track pretty much anywhere).

tracklist:
1. Introduction 02:00
2. Enthusiasms (Couldn't Ask For Anything More) 04:52
3. Dream Sequence 04:34
4. Used To Trouble 03:59
5. Glimpse Of The Past 05:56
