«Yeah, I was missing my good friend Nuno Meneses already. For our 100th release we are offering you 'Son of a Pitch', an album that was long overdue. It was to be released more than couple of years ago in Vinyl/CD format through our sister label, but some unexpected turns came down the road and it was kept in a drawer until some months ago. Well, here it is now just in time to commemorate our first one hundred releases. Unlike the previous Pitch Boys releases , 'Son of a Pitch' covers different ground in terms of aesthetics. Taking as an approach the typical song format, Nuno grabs some basics of chill-out genre and mixes them with world music references, ambient, broken beat and some lounge to create stylish music drones which are perfect with some smoking of the flora portrayed in both artwork covers. Some personal favorites: 'Creamynal', 'Plonaise', 'Son of a Pitch' and 'Marijuan'. Thank you Nuno, for another great selection of chillout tunes. Some of you might be asking why we didn't do the costumary 100th release compilation special, well... about an year ago I actually thought about it, doing some special stuff like a collaboration between a wide bunch of test tube artists. I started to line up some ideas and concepts, but sometimes is hard to manage the time needed for this to work out and suddendly it was too late to bring forward a complex idea like the one I was working on... lots of contacts to do, take into account the available time for each artist to complete the work, etc., etc. I had to abort the idea and pospone it to a future occasion, and do it right. There was once this funky little UK netlabel named Random Flow that put out a total of 12 releases. It was the first netlabel that I knew of that was solely focused on hip-hop. Among the many gems that they released were CM aka Creative’s 2 volumes of Classic Material. These gems were instant favorites of mine. When it became apparent to me that Random Flow went dark and CM aproached blocSonic about releasing Classic Material Vol. 3, I began thinking about re-releasing 1 & 2. Though I didn’t feel that simply re-releasing them individually would fit blocSonic. I began thinking about Universal’s series of multi-disc “Deluxe Edition” releases and it struck me that something like that format would suite blocSonic’s needs – the Xtended Edition was born. Now I finally get to present to you CM’s “The Classic Material Completion Package XE”! What we have for you in the completion package is “Classic Material Vol. 1”, “Classic Material Vol. 2” and an exclusive collection of early works called “Bootleg Material” that does a great job of displaying the development CM’s undergone over the years. SeaMoon is the solo project of Simon Neumann, a German artist specializing in exotic psychedelic downtempo beats. With five years of production experiments behind him, SeaMoon is ready to make a big splash with his aptly-named debut, A Twisted Downbeat Adventure, released on the Chillbasement netlabel. This release contains five tracks loaded with swampy organic grooves, fat dubby bass lines, and deeply mysterious atmospheres. The first offering from the new Chillbasement netlabel is the 4-track Monolith EP by the Danish downtempo duoLauge & Baba Gnohm (Henrik Laugesen and Kalle Christensen). The music and technician of the first record of the Aerotrio would not have to surprise. After all, if one of the things for which Brazil and the Paraiba are known are the excellency of its musicians and artists, in a general way. But it surprises, over all to take itself in account that "forro" gives the letters here and the production is well on this side of the waited one. In the way of this "Sertao" of showbusiness badly-care, the Aerotrio is the good music, nourished with talent and great drawn. Appeared in Campina Grande three years ago, Edmar Travassos (drums and electronics), Paulo Guilherme (keyboards and synthesizer) and Orlando de Freitas (bass), substituted by Fabio Alves, are men that had obtained to improve one clink musical established in the improvisation and the virtuosity of its integrant ones. And this goes to stop, with an excellent production, in you first CD, the homonym "Aerotrio", that it leaves thanks to the FIC Augusto dos Anjos (in another one of the most made right accomplishments of the project), with luxurious cover digipack and booklet inside. With a foot in free jazz and another one in acid jazz - flowing modern of the sort conceived for names as Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and Miles Davis - the Aerotrio obtains to catch, in studio, the climate of the show, always greats and explosives. The result is an alive, organic record with accurate of electronics and experimentalism that do not sink the false vanguard sound in cliches for the dance halls and vacant concepts. The sound is assimilable, simple even. But it demands musicians for backwards of the instruments. And the trio shows ability in the subject.

"I use a lot of piano in my music, so I wanted to make an album that was based around piano compositions. Confined to the restrictions of writing mostly sample based music, this was an opportunity to explore different arrangement techniques and gave me more freedom in terms of scale and chord progression." When he sent us his demo tracks, there were other EPs showing his scratch skills, but finally this one was left for us. "I'm a self taught musician and have studied very little music theory, so I like to try and learn as much as I can from each piece of music I create. This meant producing Sean-Scéal was very enjoyable as I learnt a lot from it. I made this album with the intention of re-creating it using strictly turntable manipulation, I decided to keep the original tracks instead, but this is a project I look forward to working on again at some stage."
In 2007, an instrumental band called "Aerotrio" released their self-titled album. This time, here comes another album by a member of the band, Edmar Travassos, under the name "Duis" (this one is also self-titled). It includes loungy trip-hop, funky groove, and jazzy downtempo.

Uhhh Wasaru, I love this album! I have been listening to it non-stop since I downloaded it a few days ago. I enjoy the strings and the piano aspects. Sound quality is very good. Well worth listening to all tracks as they give a wide varity of styles. The sound samples are fitting and not over the top.
