With his ‘Let Me Introduce EP’ hitting the 200.000 downloads and the debut coloured vinyl LP ‘Mind Joe’ as good as sold out, Project: Mooncircle‘s young multi-talent Joe Kickass figured it was time to drop something new. Whilst cunningly crafting his next full release, Joe and Killing Skills gathered a team of fellow producers to go to town on his debut album and remix the living crap out of it. The final result is a free 10 track serving that’s bound to leave listeners hungry for more. And as the artwork (done by the man himself and his trusty sidekick Erjee) suggests, these reworks put a whole new perspective on the world of ‘Mind Joe’. With the likes of Weedy (40 Winks) and Terilekst holding down the more boombap side of things on one side, to Portformat, Comfort Fit, Jules De La Courgette and Denver delivering spaced out, trippy vibes on the other, ‘Mind Joe Remixes’ packs enough diversity to put your average aquatic ecosystem to shame.

Two years ago we released a record from a german band which was very different to the music we released before. “Illoj“ from ne:o was a very complex, very artful album. Sometimes it was more like jazz, sometimes like electronic dance music but all things considered it was always Pop. Sure, the record is impressive but the real great deal was to realize and witness that this 5-headed band could play this complex music live – with lots of different instruments, lots of instrument-changing in between the band and with lots of fun. It all ended up in a great Germany-Tour together with our friends from Keyboard Rebel in late 2009. After the tour they played a concert in a small cinema in their hometown Dresden and luckily a friend of them recorded it. Now we (and in co-operation with our friends at tonAtom) want to share this concert with you. It was the last from them till now. A wonderful concert you wish to have joined when you have listened to DIREKT. And with this nice piece of music, we all could only hope to see ne:o live some time again.

A Place Behind The Moon explores a unique mixture of electronic and acoustic styles, clearly defining the vision that brainchild and saxophonist/producer, Dominic Lalli, and drummer, Jeremy Salken both conceived and mastered. This sophomore effort is the strongest statement to date by Big Gigantic and it effortlessly combines saxophone and syncopated drum rhythms with intoxicating, intertwining electronic undertones, truly bringing a unique sound to the evolving, electronic genre. A Place Behind The Moon demonstrates how Big Gigantic successfully delves deep into the future of electronic music, while staying in touch with their own musical roots, to ultimately create a history all their own.

Elzhi made his international debut on “Come and Get It,” a stand out song from Jay Dee’s (J Dilla) debut album, Welcome 2 Detroit. The widespread praise for the track led to Elzhi joining the group Slum Village in 2002. The albums that Elzhi recorded as a member of the group – Trinity, Detroit Deli, and Slum Village – have sold more than 600,000 copies and established Slum Village as one of the most respected hip-hop groups in the world. With The JAE.B Group as new management since 2010 and Elzhi’s departure from the record label that is home of Slum Village, Elzhi is now focused on reaching new heights. After a decade of recording, and years of international touring under his belt, Elzhi has the focus and experience to conquer new levels of success as a solo artist and one of the greatest emcees. After “The Leftovers” mixtape in 2009, Elzhi has come out with his anticipated mixtape eLmatic: paying homage to Nas’ widely praised Illmatic classic. Two years! Where did the time go… In those two years we’ve seen so many great up and coming artists come onto the scene but also sadly we have lost a few too… As time goes on genres change, tastes change but one thing that hasn’t changed is our passion for music! 42 artists and 42 Tracks is a big number for a compilation. That’s why Bob42j only do them once a year, haha, but his aim was for it to fit into two CDs which fit the mood you are in when you listen to it. G-DO & Xception - A Tribute to Fela Kuti: Felatastic
label: Goal Records released: 22 April 2011 style: hiphop afrobeat format: 320kbps mp3, FLAC,....
On 22 April 2011, Chicago rapper Xception and Amsterdam producer G-DO will release their new album ‘Felatastic: A Tribute to Fela Kuti’ on Goal Records. As the title suggests, this album is a tribute to Fela Anikulapo Kuti, the legendary Nigerian musician and composer, pioneer of Afrobeat music, and human rights activist. What started out as one song in the spirit of Fela Kuti for the new G-DO & Xception album ‘Sankofa’ (to be released summer 2011), soon turned into a full ten song-tribute album. The bridge between G-DO & Xception and Fela Kuti had been established a long time ago, so making this tribute album was a spontaneous process as they found themselves possessed by the ‘spirit of the shrine.’

The STROKE.ARTFAIR and PROJECT: Mooncircle – founded in 2002 and presently one of the most creative german Music-labels – have teamed up to present STROKE.MUSIC, their first joint cooperation; a “soundtrack to art”. The Berlin based label, with its unconventional and genre-crossing mixture between Hip Hop, Electronica, Downbeat, Soul, and Dubstep, and the first worldwide Urban Art Fair share a great set of ideals and, therefore, promise to be the perfect partners for STROKE.MUSIC. To bring STROKE.MUSIC into being, the artists of the STROKE.ARTFAIR galleries were asked to choose their personal favorite song out of the vast musical label-archive and use it as inspiration to create a new piece of art. The results of this venture will be presented in Munich during the STROKE.ARTFAIR in a special exhibition. Every interested visitor will be able to listen to the music while looking at the art in order to blend the impressions into a complete audio-visual experience. The STROKE.MUSIC compilation will be available as a free download for the first thousand interested listeners. Afterwards, every art- and music-aficionado can acquire the compilation for the price they believe to be appropriate.

mike b started out playing saxophone at the age of 7 studying jazz and learning key fundamentals of theory, harmony, song structure. When Mike attended high school he was encouraged to take up piano lessons after showing keen interest in and out of classes. Studying after only one year Mike was again encouraged to apply for 'Trinity College of Music' as a Junior Student which he would attend every saturday as well as attending his school. Mike Studied here for 5 years learning Jazz piano and composition bettering his knowledge of chord structure, writing and musicianship. whilst Mike was at Trinity however he moved up to college at the age of 16 and attended in Brighton where he studied Music and Music Tech. Catching Mikes interest Music technology soon started influencing mikes compositions as he found he could do more and more with the sounds he had created. Blown away by Jazz, break beat, funk and drum n bass mike was swept along by artists such as 'LTJ Bukem and Roni Size who incorporated Jazz and funk influences in to their own music. Never forgetting the greats like 'Bill Evans', 'Duke Ellington', 'Thelonious Monk' and Fats Waller to name a few. After Mike graduated from College he was keen to further his education in music and more importantly music production.
