released: November 20, 2012
style: instrumental hiphop downtempo beats
format: 320kbps, FLAC

Tha Silent Partner returns to blocSonic with the latest (perhaps final?) in his series of Platters releases. This time he’s prepared for you “Platters, Act 4: A Suite For John M”, a fantastic collection of sounds that he created using a selection of vinyl lent to him by a good friend of his, John Marceline. Whether or not you’re already a TSP fan or you’re discovering his music for the first time, take a few moments to sit back and enjoy the ill grooves. When you’re done with it and you haven’t already checked out the rest of the Platters series, do so. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks again to Gregory ‘Tha Silent Partner’ Davis for another one!

'Short Cuts' - is a compilation of 'feel good' beats that reminds me of growing up in the 90's era. They're made for you to bump while driving around but also represents my mindset before the events leading up to my full length debut album, 'Flight Delayed'.

J-Louis - Balanced EP

J-Louis - Balanced EP

label: Soulection
released: 22 February 2013
style: experimental future soul beats
format: 320kbps mp3, FLAC,....

It was during a Soulection music session on a vibrant evening that one of our A&R's played us some unreleased music from J-Louis. The vibe and timing was just right. In fact, the first listening experience was some of the most refreshing and smoothest soulful-bass infused sounds that we heard in years. It was right then and there that we realized that the 19 year old J-Louis needed to join the Soulection team. J. Louis, ready to release his Soulection EP “Balanced”, definitely gives off future and forward-thinking vibes through out the entire beat journey. The vibe starts off with a dream like quality; something you’d definitely listen to on those after-hour late night drives with the windows down. All tracks are infused with soft female vocal samples ranging from Nikko Gray, Alicia Keys, Mara Hruby, Ruby Wood (Submotion Orchestra), and R&B queen, Aaliyah. J-Louis throws in a Spanish gem by giving us his twist on Elvis Crespo's “Suavemente”. J. Louis is definitely not a stranger to intricate drum usage and this is very prominent in Balanced.

1. A Distant Vision 03:16
2. 320 am with Nikko Gray 04:40
